My friends and former church family i am Praising God this morning for the life of my sweet wonderful Daddy Milton H Davis Jr He is no longer in pain and can hear perfectly without a hearing aid for the first time in his 89 years of life. I know I will see him again because that is what Jesus promised. "I am the resurrection and the life all who believe in me although the die will live forever" John 11:25 All glory honor and praise to Him Amen John Davis

"First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered on behalf of all men for kings and all those in authority, so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior" 1 Timothy 2:1- 3 Here Paul is admonishing Timothy and by extension all believers to make requests and prayers for all in authority. Now when we think about this what Paul was urging was not an easy thing to ask. The Kings of the time were no friends of the early Christians, in fact they persecuted them mercilessly. Yet Paul still said pray and intercede for these men, not because he expected the lives of these leaders would be made easier but that the lives of the believers would be made easier at least from a spiritual standpoint, because in doing so it pleased God. We are admonished today to do the same thing. We need to pray for our leaders and intercede for them. Here in the United States our current President and VP are under constant scrutiny and attack, very little of it legitimate. Most of it being from people and groups that have one thing in mind and that is destruction of this country because they are being used by Satan to cause division. Jesus told the Jews that a house divided against itself could not stand. The hearts of these people are far from God, although many wrongly believe they are in the right. They are doing what is right in their own eyes and not living to please God. The bottom line here is that God is in control and there is nothing that is beyond Him. He is going to do what He wills to accomplish His purposes and it will be much better for all of us if we obey Him. Eventually, all of those who stand against God will be destroyed and only those who are born again will see/enter His Kingdom.

"The LORD your God is among you a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will bring you quietness with His love. He will delight in you with shouts of joy" Zephaniah 3:17 Now the GOOD NEWS! In Christ we have all of these things right now. Jesus is our God who by the person and power of the Holy Spirit does all of these things. Merry Christmas.

"One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side of the lake.” So He got into a boat with them and set out. As they sailed, He fell asleep, and a squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke Him saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and they subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” He asked. Frightened and amazed, they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!" Luke 8:22-25 Here is a perfect example of the power and grace of God. Here we have the disciples who were terrified because of the storm, even with Jesus in the boat they were afraid. They allowed fear to overrule their faith. This is why Jesus asked them "where is your faith" Jesus demonstrated His grace by calming the physical storm threatening the disciples lives, and does the same thing when He calms the spiritual storms in our lives, but like the disciples too many times we allow our fears to overcome our faith. We must remember that the one who is the master of the storm is also the one we have called on to be master of our lives. So no matter the storm we must trust that God is in control and He will protect us but we must have faith, for without faith it is impossible to please God. where is your faith today?

"Because of the LORD's faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end" Lamentations 3:22 Jesus' words to Nicodemus back this up "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16 God demonstrates His love to us on a daily basis, despite the fact that far too often we get busy and tune God out and tend to focus on our daily "routine". However, God never tunes us out, He is always looking out for us. Please take time today and thank Him for your life and the blessing He gives you. God is our "everlasting Father" and He desires to fellowship with us today.

when we shut God out and walk according to what we see as right we suffer, but the good news is this. Jesus said "seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well" Matthew 6:33 Here Jesus is telling those who will hear that when we put God first and seek His righteousness, all of the other things we desire will be given to us. The truth is God desires to have a relationship with us through His Son Jesus. He wants to supply all of our need, including protecting us from all harm. The Psalmist wrote "You are my hiding place, you protect me from all trouble you surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance" Psalm 32:7 Yet because of our fallen nature, we want to reject God, we want to turn our back on Him, this a tragic attitude to have because it will only lead to destruction. I am not saying that Christianity and being a follower of Christ is a "magic wand" that solves everything because it is not and it does not. Jesus Himself said that we would have trouble in this world, but to take heart because He has overcome the world. John 16:33 He gives us the strength to overcome and the peace to deal with all that we face IF we allow Him to do so. It is our choice and it is a heart condition. "Father God I pray that you will forgive us for not trusting you in all things, create in us clean hearts and renew a right spirit within us, help us to be the people that you have called us to be, help us to take courage in standing up for you and let it bring honor glory and praise to your name in Jesus name we pray Amen"

"We wait for the LORD He is our help and shield. For our hearts rejoice in Him because we trust in His holy name. May your faithful love rest on us, LORD, for we put our hope in you" Psalm 33:20-22 Often in our everyday lives we don't want to "wait" we get busy and feel like we must accomplish many tasks throughout the day. We grow impatient we put God on the back burner and then when at the end of the day when we have not accomplished what we set out to do we are upset. However, what God desires is that we come to Him seek Him first and His righteousness. Matthew 6:33. When we put God first seek Him early and often, then he will order our steps Psalm 37:23. When we wait for the LORD our hearts will rejoice because we trust and put our hope in Him and what we set out to accomplish will be done. We must never allow "busyness" or daily tasks to take the place of time with the LORD. Put Jesus first and everything else will fall into place. Wait, rejoice, trust, hope.

"The Rock His work is perfect all His ways are entirely just. A faithful God without prejudice, He is righteous and true" Deuteronomy 32:4 "God His way is perfect, the Word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him" Psalm 18:30 The message here is that no matter what we face we have a God who is perfect and everything He does is right. Even when we are in times of trial and trouble and it feels like God is a million miles away, we must always remember that He has promised to never leave us or forsake us and whatever it is, God will bring us thru. "The name of the LORD is a strong tower the righteous run to it and is safe" Proverbs 18:10

"Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God" John 3:18 This is why we must have faith in Jesus and believe, but it is more than just "head knowledge" we must believe in our hearts. There are people who say they believe in God but have no regard for Jesus or even believe He existed at all. Of course this is not only wrong it is spiritually dangerous. We must pray for those who are lost and even those who claim to believe in God but reject Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father.

"I will exalt you LORD because you have lifted me up and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me" Psalm 30:1 Yes our Lord is worthy of our praise and exaltation because He will lift us up, and in context while David was likely speaking of physical enemies, our enemies do not have to be physical they can be spiritual. Anything that causes us pain or trouble can be our enemy. In fact anything that takes our focus off of God and keeps us from seeking Him is our enemy. So the bottom line here is that we need to remember that the Lord gives us strength and He blesses us with peace.

"Each of you should not only look only to your own interests but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus" Philippians 2:4-5

"Also, from today on I am He alone, and no one can take anything from My hand. I act, and who can reverse it" Isaiah 43:13 Now compare this to what Jesus said. "My sheep hear My voice, I know them and they follow Me. I give them eternal life and they will never perish ever, no one will snatch them out of My hand" John 10:27-28 Jesus went on to say that His Father who gave the sheep to Him is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand and that the Father and He were one. This was a very clear claim to deity and we know this because the Jews picked up rocks to stone Him. So What God claims in Isaiah 43:13 Jesus says the same in John 10:28 Conclusion= Jesus is God!

"He saved us not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit" Titus 3:5 Our salvation is a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not anything we do. Please do not let anyone ever say that we must do "good works" in order to gain eternal life. We walk in "good works" AFTER we have been saved because we are saved, not because it is the "good works" that save us.

"Therefore since we have been declared righteous by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 5:1

"The LORD is good a stronghold in a day of distress He cares for those who take refuge in Him"

The Promise of the Spirit. "On the last day and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, If anyone is thirsty he should come to Me and drink! The one who believes in Me, as the scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within them. He said this about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been received, because Jesus had not yet been glorified" John 7:37-39 Again the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Christ is the streams of living water from a spiritual perspective and not a physical one. The Holy Spirit is of course incorporeal and not literally water, but in that the Holy Spirit who indwells a believer fills us with Joy and peace and strength and it is LIKE streams of living water, because these things will help us in this life just as literal water helps us live.
